This Tesla accessory may be more complicated than you want or need - it's for us. We were very cautious about opening the electronics in the Y dash to connect the data coupler (see picture). The "features" enabled when the data coupler is connected - operating the roof lights, opening doors, preheating the battery, etc. - appear to us to be assistive at best. Overall, this product may work for you.

We are a 2 Tesla family so when I ordered a similar push button adapter for my 2022 Tesla MY, I also ordered this for my significant other's 2021 MY. We were in the process of moving so the installation was delayed for a while. Unfortunately, we all find that installing this type of adapter is too much and worry about the impact of introducing this aftermarket product into our electrical systems. Additionally, we decided that none of us wanted to give up the convenience of a retractable cable adapter.

I had high hopes for this center but unfortunately overall it fell short. Top of my list was that it could not precondition the battery, I confirmed this after contacting the manufacturer and they offered a 50% credit on the product instead of sending me a new one. I would have given it 3 stars for this flaw, but I've had two instances where it wouldn't run at all, so I dropped the rating to 2 stars.

For whatever reason, the rear USB port on my 22 M3LR stopped working, so I had to keep plugging in the extra long USB C cable to charge the back seat passengers. Considering all the bells and whistles this unit offers, I wanted to give it a try. Well, installation wasn't as complicated as I originally thought, and the overall look is pretty close to the original. I'm happy with it so far and it doesn't look weird or out of place. If you've been considering a similar product, give it a try.

This docking station for Tesla Model 3/Y adds a host of additional features to your Tesla, and installation is quick and easy. Button 1: - Double click to open right front door - Long press to open the right rear door Button 2: - Double click to turn the roof light on and off - Press and hold to open the glovebox Button 3: - Long press to unfold/fold the rearview mirror - Double click to preheat battery To install, you simply use the included pry tool to remove the cover under the center console under the rear air conditioner (from the rear seat). Then just add the included transmitter between your existing connections. It took me less than 5 minutes, and I'm still taking video. Once installed, you simply add the docking station to your center console, plug it in and it works. so easy. I really like being able to retract the mirrors when passing an ATM or driving by a restaurant, and be able to quickly open the glove box or turn the overhead lights on and off without having to fumble with the touch screen. really good. Overall, for the price, this is a great product that adds a USB-C charging port and has pass-through functionality, but the added features are where it really shines. I like it. The included installation instructions are pretty vague, so if you have questions about where or how to install it, watch the video I added to the review.

This looks promising since I need to be able to open the doors while I drive Uber as a side job, but the instructions don't specify which panel I need to remove. There are dozens of Molex connectors in the vehicle, some on the dash and some in the rear, under the seats, but the illustration (not the video) shows where the controller is mounted. Back.

I have a 21 Model Y and I'm really impressed with this smart hub assembly, the wireless connector box takes a little longer to install into the rear console housing area but once it's done it's worth every minute. This unit has 3 buttons that give you 6 amazing functions* (2 per button), it actually opens my passenger front and rear doors, folds the mirrors, opens the glove box, turns on the dome light , Preheat the battery. There is also a light built into the bottom of the wheel hub!

The Tesla dock with physical buttons has pretty good build quality, but I wish the buttons were larger and fit better around my fingers. The buttons are too small. It's probably a design idea to prevent people from pressing the buttons unintentionally, but it makes it harder to find the button you want. They decided to include two cable pass-through slots if you wanted to have your own charging cable, but I would have preferred it if they included retractable lighting as well as a USB C cable. Or maybe a version with a Lightning port and then a USB-C cap port that can be placed on top of it. That's a lot more since those silicone openings and a USB-C port on top. A built-in retractable cable would also make more sense, since the device already occupies one of the two USB-C ports. At least they also include two replacement silicone tanks. I love its slim design. It doesn't intrude too much into the storage area! There is an on/off button that is pressed by pressure on the side of the base. Doesn't the manual say what this is for? I'm still waiting for my Tesla to arrive, so I'll update my review of this product in the near future.
